What size unit is best for my needs?

Let’s think about what you’re planning to store. Tenants looking to store household furniture should first consider the larger items like dressers, mattresses, large sofas, and dining tables. Also consider how you would prefer to store these items; can the table be stored on it’s side, can boxes be stacked under or on top of it? Once you’ve considered what needs to be stored and how, we recommend viewing a few of the unit sizes before making a final decision. Allow us to take you on a tour and show you – in person – the difference between the sizes. This unit size guide has been prepared to help you get started.

How much does it cost to move in?

Your move in payment includes your first month’s rent, and a $29 administration fee. You provide your own lock(s), and you choose which level of insurance coverage works best for your needs. Proof of insurance coverage is required. Third party insurance options are offered at lease signing and start as low as $12 a month.

Does Sentry Storage Solutions offer move-in specials?

Our move-in specials change frequently based on availability. Current move-in specials are summarized here and detailed on our reservation pages. HOT TIP: By making an online unit reservation now, you can lock in the current move-in special and guarantee that if the special changes before you rent, you’ll have a choice between the two.

I made an online unit reservation. Can I choose a different unit size?

Our no-obligation reservations are just that. If your needs change, just contact our facility and we will adjust your reservation at your request.

Is a deposit required?

Sentry Storage Solutions does not required a deposit for unit or space rentals.

When is my rent due?

Self storage rent is due on the monthly anniversary day of your move in date. Tenants who rent a unit on the 5th of April will have a monthly rent due date of the 5th.

How much notice do I need to provide when I am ready to move out?

No notice is required in advance of a unit vacate. Be sure to notify the office when you’ve completed your move out and are ready for the check out process; but don’t worry about notifying us in advance.

What is the admin or move in fee?

All rentals incur a $29 admin fee at the time of move in.

What is the price of a 10×10 unit?

The 10×10 unit size is a popular place to start assessing one’s storage needs. This size is a medium unit, with 100 sq feet of floor space. Rent rates vary by location; learn more about our Chula Vista 10×10 here.

When my needs change, is there a transfer fee?

We know that needs change. When you are no longer using all your rented space, consider downsizing to a smaller unit. And when your space is getting full, it may be time for a size upgrade. Our tenants can transfer units without the added stress of a transfer fee.

Will Sentry send me an invoice each month?

We absolutely can! Our invoices are sent electronically to the tenant email address. Our tenants have the option of receiving a monthly invoice, or opting out at any time.

What unit sizes are offered?

Can I sign up for autopay?

Many of our tenants enjoy the convenience of autopay enrollment. By agreeing to an automatic payment on your credit card each month, you ensure that rent and other payments like insurance premiums are taken care of without the need to visit the office or make a payment by phone.

Will you take away my move-in special if I only stay a couple months?

Of course not! Your move-in special is yours to keep, regardless of your length of stay. If you are looking for short-term storage in San Diego or short-term storage in Chula Vista, be sure to also consider Sentry Storage Solution’s prorated move out policy! All rentals of one month or more are eligible for prorated rent refunds; ensuring that tenants are not responsible for the cost of unused rental days.
